I have worked in Jeffco since 2000, teaching 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade. I was an assistant principal for 3 years and a principal for the last 5 years. I am thrilled to be the principal of Rooney Ranch! I grew up in the Chicago area and have been in Colorado since 1994. My husband and I have 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. They have all gone through Jeffco schools. I am a huge lacrosse fan! Three of my children played in college. I love being outdoors. On the weekends I try to go mountain biking, hiking, or skiing. I feel fortunate to live in our wonderful state.

This is my second year at Rooney Ranch and I am so proud to be your Assistant Principal. I am originally from Wisconsin but moved to Colorado and received my undergraduate degree at Colorado State University. I received my Masters in Education at Regis University after having spent several years in the corporate world and have had the pleasure of working for Jeffco for 15 years: as classroom teacher, Instructional Coach and Evaluation Coach. My husband Bryan and I have two amazing kids. Alex (21) is a senior at the University of Arizona and Sydney (17) is a senior at Dakota Ridge HS. I can’t forget about our “furry child” - a 3-year-old dog named Kaya. I love to run and hike (Colorado is perfect for it!) and enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

I am a transplant from the East coast. Having grown up in the small town of Noank, Connecticut, I moved to Colorado in 1992. I began teaching in 1993 at Mount St. Vincent Home in Denver for a few years before becoming a Jefferson County teacher at Leawood Elementary School. I taught there for six years before coming over to Rooney Ranch Elementary. I have now been at Rooney for 15 years and love every day, as every day offers so many different opportunities. I have also been a softball and baseball coach at D’Evelyn High School since 1995. Coaching gives me the opportunity to work with both elementary and high school students.
