I have worked in Jeffco since 2000, teaching 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade. I was an assistant principal for 3 years and a principal for the last 6 years. I am thrilled to be the principal of Rooney Ranch!
I grew up in the Chicago area and have been in Colorado since 1994. My husband and I have 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. They have all gone through Jeffco schools. I am a huge lacrosse fan! Three of my children played in college. I love being outdoors. On the weekends I try to go mountain biking, hiking, or skiing. I feel fortunate to live in our wonderful state.

I've had the pleasure of working at Rooney Ranch since 2014. I moved to Colorado in 1992 from the Green Mountain State of Vermont. I love to be outside doing pretty much anything, especially if it's on water or snow! I enjoy movie nights with my family, I love to cook and bake, garden, and I love spending time with my friends. Winter is my absolute favorite season!

I am a transplant from the East coast. Having grown up in the small town of Noank, Connecticut, I moved to Colorado in 1992. I began teaching in 1993 at Mount St. Vincent Home in Denver for a few years before becoming a Jefferson County teacher at Leawood Elementary School. I taught there for six years before coming over to Rooney Ranch Elementary. I have now been at Rooney for 17 years and love every day, as every day offers so many different opportunities. I have also been a softball and baseball coach at D’Evelyn High School since 1995. Coaching gives me the opportunity to work with both elementary and high school students. I continue to learn new teaching techniques on a daily basis. I love being at Rooney Ranch with all the students and staff that have made my teaching career such a wonderful experience.

I am very happy to be working as a learning specialist at Rooney Ranch and Hutchinson Elementaries this year. My husband and I are the proud parents of four girls and two boys ranging in ages 28 to 11. We became grandparents this past summer to an adorable Olive Marie. This is our 20th year living in Colorado. Most days after school I can be found on the beautiful trails near my home in Conifer with my hiking pals: Casper, a lab beagle mix, and Shavee, an Australian shepherd border collie. Hiking is one of my loves-- so far I have climbed 14 14ers and hope to climb my 15th soon. Looking forward to working with this community!

It is my second year at Rooney. I’m so excited to be a part this wonderful school community to support Social Emotional Learning in the classroom as well as at home. Like Mr. Rooney, I am originally a farm girl from Iowa. I moved to Colorado in 2006 to earn my Masters in Community and School Counseling from Denver Seminary. I worked for 4 years as an ECE-8 school counselor in DPS and another 3 years supporting counselors district-wide. I spent the last several years at home with my three beautiful girls. During this time, I was still supporting social emotional learning by supporting moms and coordinating speakers for a local MOPS group. My 5 year old twin girls now attend kinder at Hutchinson along with my 7 year old daughter, where I will also be working part-time.

I've been a teacher at Rooney Ranch Elementary for 21 years (currently starting my 22nd year). Throughout my career, I have taught several grades (first, second, third, and a 3rd/4th multi-grade class). I feel very fortunate to have been a teacher at this school my entire career. I can honestly say that the Rooney community (both staff and families who have attended our school) are like family to me. I'm truly lucky to have had the chance to work in such a supportive community. When I'm not teaching, I love spending lots of time with my family and my sweet dogs Cammi and Mandie. Rooney Ranch is looking like my second home. All three of our daughters attended Rooney, so I have been here for 13 consecutive years as a parent and volunteer. For the past 3 years, I have been working here as a para-professional, and occasionally as a substitute teacher when needed. I was born and raised in Dallas, TX. While I still cheer for the Cowboys, the Broncos are my #1 team! I earned my teaching degree at Texas A&M University, where I met my husband, Craig. After graduating we moved to Colorado. I worked as a substitute teacher in Jeffco for several years, and I taught kindergarten at Hutchinson for one. We have two daughters in college and an 8th grade daughter at Dunstan Middle School. We are active with the Green Mountain HS Marching Band, though we are enjoying a couple relaxed fall seasons before our youngest enters high school. When I'm not working here, I can be found cheering on my son, a Junior at Lakewood HS, at his Ultimate Frisbee games, working out up at Red Rocks or advocating for strong public education here in Jeffco.
I was honored in 2016 to receive the Education Support Professional of the Year Award for the state of Colorado.
